Abstract
Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) play a crucial role in the economic development of Indonesia by contributing to employment generation, innovation, and economic growth. With the rapid advancement of digital technologies, information technology (IT) has become an important driver for improving the productivity and competitiveness of SMEs. This study examines the influence of information technology adoption on the economic development of SMEs in Indonesia. The research highlights how digital tools such as e-commerce platforms, digital payment systems, and cloud-based management systems support business expansion and operational efficiency. The findings suggest that SMEs that effectively adopt information technology experience improved market access, increased productivity, and enhanced financial performance. The study concludes that IT adoption is a key factor in strengthening the sustainability and economic growth of SMEs in Indonesia.
