Rowling<\/a>\u00a0has implied that she will never forgive Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>58, the author of the best-selling &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/twistkoala.com\/tag\/harry-potter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Harry Potter<\/a>&#8221; books, has hinted that she will not forgive Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe for their differing views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The &#8220;Harry Potter&#8221; series has become one of the most successful film franchises in history. However, in recent years, it has been overshadowed by controversy surrounding Rowling&#8217;s views on s#x and gender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rowling has now openly criticized two of the franchise&#8217;s biggest stars, stating she has no intention of forgiving them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tension dates back to 2020 when Rowling retweeted an article that referred to &#8220;people who menstruate&#8221; instead of using the term &#8220;women.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rowling expressed her disagreement in a <a href=\"tweet:\">tweet<\/a>, humorously questioning what happened to the word &#8220;women.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/igvofficial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/JK-Rowling-scaled.jpg?ezimgfmt=ng:webp\/ngcb1\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">J.K. If s** isn\u2019t real, the lived reality of women globally is erased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI know and love trans people, but erasing the concept of s** removes the ability of many to meaningfully discuss their lives. It isn\u2019t hate to speak the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--nextpage-->\n\n\n\n<p>In 2022, Rowling would release a book titled \u2018The Ink Black Heart\u2019, under her alias Robert Galbraith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s a crime thriller about a YouTuber called Edie Ledwell, who releases a cartoon which is criticised as being racist, ableist, and transphobic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rowling was slammed on X, formerly&nbsp;Twitter&nbsp;over the new book, with one person tweeting: \u201cI just finished reading \u2018The Ink Black Heart\u2019. How can I describe it? \u2013 Utterly transphobic and ableist. \u2013 Poorly written. \u2013 Unnecessarily verbose. \u2013 Painfully long. \u2013 The worst of the series so far.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another said: \u201cIf any person personifies how becoming very wealthy dulls you from the humanity that made you successful in the first place, it\u2019s J.K. Pictures<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Chris Rankin (aka Percy Weasley) told&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.edp24.co.uk\/news\/chris-rankin-on-jw-rowling-trans-row-8585642\">Eastern Daily Press<\/a>: \u201cI do a lot of work with charities that are&nbsp;LGBTQ+&nbsp;focused and I raise money for the Albert Kennedy Trust on a regular basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA lot of my family are members of the community. Credit: Alamy<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Daniel Radcliffe released a statement through&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetrevorproject.org\/blog\/daniel-radcliffe-responds-to-j-k-rowlings-tweets-on-gender-identity\/\">The Trevor Project<\/a>&nbsp;in June 2020, explaining how he felt \u2018compelled to say something\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It read: \u201cI realise that certain press outlets will probably want to paint this as in-fighting between J.K. Rowling and myself, but that is really not what this is about, nor is it what\u2019s important right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--nextpage-->\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhile Jo is unquestionably responsible for the course my life has taken, as someone who has been honoured to work with and continues to contribute to The Trevor Project for the last decade, and just as a human being, I feel compelled to say something at this moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTransgender women are women. Credit: Alamy<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Emma Watson&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EmmaWatson\/status\/1270826851070619649?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tweeted<\/a>: \u201cTrans people are who they say they are and deserve to live their lives without being constantly questioned or told they aren\u2019t who they say they are.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In another tweet, she&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EmmaWatson\/status\/1270827488915214338\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">added<\/a>: \u201cI want my trans followers to know that I and so many other people around the world see you, respect you and love you for who you are.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--nextpage-->\n\n\n\n<p>Fans are also convinced the&nbsp;<em>Little Women<\/em>&nbsp;actress made a dig at Rowling during her 2022&nbsp;BAFTAs&nbsp;speech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It happened when&nbsp;Rebel Wilson&nbsp;\u2013 who was hosting the event \u2013 welcomed the actress to the stage by saying: \u201cHere to present the next award is Emma Watson. She calls herself a feminist, but we all know she\u2019s a witch.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In response, Watson said: \u201cI\u2019m here for&nbsp;<em>all<\/em>&nbsp;the witches.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And now, Rowling has hit back at the criticism of her views\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/igvofficial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Emma-Watson.jpg?ezimgfmt=ng:webp\/ngcb1\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Emma Watson has also made it clear she has differing views from J.K. Credit: Alamy<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>This week, Rowling shared a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jk_rowling\/status\/1778105223728255439\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tweet<\/a>&nbsp;about the Cass Review, which is an independent review of gender identity services for children and young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mermaids, a charity supporting trans, non-binary and gender-questioning children, warned that \u2018some of the language in the report is open to misinterpretation and could be used to justify additional barriers to accessing care for some trans young people\u2019, as per&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/society\/2024\/apr\/10\/adult-transgender-clinics-in-england-face-inquiry-into-patient-care#:~:text=But%2C%20a%20spokesperson%20added%3A%20%E2%80%9C,the%20interim%20report%20has%20been.%E2%80%9D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Guardian<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--nextpage-->\n\n\n\n<p>However, Rowling called the report \u2018the most robust review of the medical evidence for transitioning children that\u2019s ever been conducted\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The author claims the findings showed \u2018kids have been irreversibly harmed\u2019, adding: \u201cThousands are complicit, not just medics, but the&nbsp;celebrity&nbsp;mouthpieces, unquestioning media and cynical corporations.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In response, a fan of Rowling said: \u201cJust waiting for Dan and Emma to give you a very public apology\u2026 safe in the knowledge that you will forgive them\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/igvofficial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/H2Y8H4-scaled.jpg?ezimgfmt=ng:webp\/ngcb1\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">J.K. Credit: Alamy<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>However, Rowling insists that she would not forgive the pair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNot safe, I\u2019m afraid,\u201d she&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jk_rowling\/status\/1778124467027267804\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a>. \u201cCelebs who cosied up to a movement intent on eroding women\u2019s hard-won rights and who used their platforms to cheer on the transitioning of minors can save their apologies for traumatised detransitioners and vulnerable women reliant on single-s#x spaces.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fans have since rushed to Radcliffe and Watson\u2019s defence, with one X user writing: \u201cEmma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe don\u2019t need forgiveness for being compassionate human beings and they weren\u2019t offering you an apology.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Somebody else weighs in, commenting: \u201cWait \u2013 what have Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe got to apologise to Rowling for? They were in the films of her books when they were kids, she doesn\u2019t own them.
