The harrowing final words of a man and his girlfriend, who were eaten alive by a bear, can be heard in chilling audio footage. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Timothy Treadwell, known as the \u2018Grizzly Man,\u2019 had a passion for bears, which led to his career in environmentalism and documentary filmmaking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In particular, he focused on the grizzly bears of Alaska\u2019s Katmai National Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Treadwell was said to be so comfortable around the creatures that he gave them names and considered them friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet tragically, his and his partner\u2019s life would end in a horrific bear attack on October 5, 2003.<\/p>\n\n\n

The committed filmmaker openly expressed his aversion to modern society \u2013 he found solace in the wilderness among bears rather than the hustle and bustle of towns and cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the late 1980s, he spent 13 summers in Alaska, camping along the Katmai Coast, renowned for its abundant grizzly population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Treadwell divided his time between Big Green, a grassy area on Hallo Bay ideal for bear sightings, and Kaflia Bay, a dense and wooded area known as the Grizzly Maze, offering closer bear encounters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His interactions with the bears, documented on film<\/a>, often involved risky proximity, including touching and playing with bear cubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite persistent warnings from park authorities, Treadwell persisted in his pursuit to get up close and personal with the bears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ultimately, this led to him meeting his demise.<\/p>\n\n\n

In October 2003, Treadwell and his girlfriend, Amie Huguenard, were camping in the Grizzly Maze beyond the usual season when they encountered a bear during its feeding period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is dangerous for humans to be nearby during this time, even more so for Treadwell with his lack of defensive measures against the predator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Air taxi pilot Willy Fulton would discover a bone-chilling scene.<\/p>\n\n\n

Fulton arrived at the campsite in the Alaskan wilderness for a scheduled pick-up after the couple\u2019s bear study expedition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He would come across a disturbing sight \u2013 a massive bear, described as \u2018the meanest looking,\u2019 feasting on human remains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Treadwell and Huguenard\u2019s tent was collapsed and torn, a meal had been left untouched and shoes were laid outside neatly by the door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

But the most disturbing sight was a mound of grass nearby, concealing human body parts, including fingers and an arm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Investigators would also uncover Treadwell\u2019s severed and mutilated head, along with his detached right arm still adorned with a wristwatch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pieces fell into place, painting a gruesome picture of the couple\u2019s fate.<\/p>\n\n\n

The discovery of a six-minute audio recording, capturing the horrifying sounds of the attack, added another layer of tragedy to the already harrowing tale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although Treadwell hadn\u2019t removed the lens cap on his camera, the microphone was still running.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The audio recording from the incident revealed the harrowing cries of the couple as they faced the bear\u2019s onslaught.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Huduenard\u2019s desperate attempts to intervene, followed by Treadwell\u2019s anguished screams, portrayed a scene of unimaginable horror.<\/p>\n\n\n

Subsequent investigation uncovered that the bear responsible for the attack had consumed a significant portion of human remains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tragic incident would become the subject of Werner Herzog\u2019s award-winning documentary, Grizzly Man<\/em>, which delved into Treadwell\u2019s life and fatal encounter with the bears he had grown so close to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the doc, Herzog can be seen with his hands over his face as he listens to the tape recording of Treadwell\u2019s final moments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The filmmaker advises people to \u2018never listen to this.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also warns: \u201cAnd you must never look at the photos I\u2019ve seen at the coroner\u2019s office. I think you should not keep it, you should destroy it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the horrific six minutes of audio, Treadwell can be heard screaming: \u201cGet out here! I\u2019m getting killed out here!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He encourages Huguenard to \u2018hit the bear\u2019 while she urges him to \u2018fight back.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Huguenard hits the animal with a frying pan before her agonizing screams are heard as the tape cuts out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
