A woman is going\u00a0viral<\/a>\u00a0on\u00a0TikTok<\/a>\u00a0after slamming a famous restaurant that \u2018doesn\u2019t cater for\u00a0vegans<\/a>.\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Veganism is the practice of abstaining from using animal products, particularly in diet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yearly, the number of vegans is rising, with many wanting to do their best to help animal welfare and the planet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the steady increase in those following a plant-based diet, it makes sense for it to be reflected in where vegans can eat and\u00a0drink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On one occasion, Amie-Beth found this wasn\u2019t the case\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n

In a TikTok video, the woman recounted visiting the popular Sheesh restaurant in Essex, U.K.<\/a>, following her mom\u2019s recommendation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amie-Beth explained that it\u2019s known for its\u00a0celebrity\u00a0clientele and that \u2018people don\u2019t just go there for the food\u2019 but also the \u2018vibes.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

She wanted to get \u2018dressed up,\u2019 visit the eatery, catch up with a friend, and enjoy a nice meal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The TikToker said she had previously visited the eatery and was informed she couldn\u2019t just order sides from the menus, as there weren\u2019t any vegan options on the main menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To check the situation wouldn\u2019t be the same again, she claims she rang the restaurant to check whether its policy had been updated.<\/p>\n\n\n

Amie-Beth recounted: \u201cWe rang them up [and said] basically my friend wants to come, she\u2019s a vegan so there\u2019s nothing on the main menu she can order, would it be okay if she just ordered sides? Because she\u2019s been before and that wasn\u2019t allowed?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She claims a woman on the other side of the phone responded: \u201cWe don\u2019t cater for vegans\u2026 I don\u2019t even know why a vegan would even want to come to our restaurant anyway.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Concluding the video, the TikToker said: \u201cIt\u2019s 2023, being a vegan isn\u2019t weird.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe were just asking a question, fair enough if that\u2019s your policy, but\u2026 I just can\u2019t believe that a restaurant that is so well-known would be so rude.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After watching Amie-Beth\u2019s video, some viewers took to the comments and defended the restaurant, pointing out it\u2019s largely known for its meat-based dishes.<\/p>\n\n\n

One person said: \u201cIt is a meat restaurant though.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Agreeing, another added: \u201cA restaurant does not need to change their policies and way of business to accommodate your lifestyle choices.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response to such comments, Amie-Beth pointed out: \u201cIt\u2019s a Turkish restaurant: many Turkish restaurants serve falafel. It\u2019s not predominately meat. Saying that I have been to steakhouses offering vegan.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Others have sided with the TikToker and said that in this day and age, vegan options should be a must on the menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat\u2019s so bizarre, they\u2019re losing out on a whole lot of custom lol like what,\u201d wrote one viewer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A second person commented: \u201cEvery restaurant should have vegan options and this is coming from a non-vegan!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
